Welcome to the Lake Victoria Basin Information Resources Database. This web based database is one of the information dissemination medium of the Lake Victoria Basin Commission.

The Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) was established by Protocol on Sustainable Development of Lake Victoria Basin. It is the apex institution of EAC mandated with overall coordination. The Commission became effective in July 2005 and launched in June 2006. Its Seat is in Kisumu City, Kenya. Previously the mandate was with the Lake Victoria Development Programme (LVDP) since 2001.

This Lake Victoria Bibliographical database is part of the Lake Victoria Basin Resources Database. It is an output of a project undertaken in the year 2004 to early 2006. The overall objective of the project was to avail to the LVBC and other stakeholders a mechanism for easy access, retrieval and dissemination of information relating to the Lake Victoria Basin for enhanced decision making process and awareness creation.
